it should be Władysław, and the 'ł' is a 'w' sound I think.

Only if you change it to that letter of which your original stands as l ;) at which point then it would become

Władsław= Vwadswav and now we're getting really silly l and ł are different letters in their own right from what I can muster

They are, but I'm not an expert on keyboards so I 'Anglicised' it. i.e. cheated :oops:

That was to the king wasn't it? :lol:

Though I just watched the clip, never seen the film, nice, amusing and based on a real incident. Though the RAF maintained a better working relationship with the Polish then the army managed.

i will let you into a bit of history....... a good mate of mine( nige filmer, works in jay jays sheffield) , his father was awarded a medal by the polish government in exile during the war......... he spoke several languages, one of which was polish. he translated all the spitfire pilots and aircrew manuals into polish. played a big part in the war that did.
